Starts 14 June
From 265 Australian dollars

Service Description

This two day workshop will cover mould making on day one, Sunday 14th June, with the moulds then used for producing multiples on day two using black clay and black slip to engage with the Dark Mofo theme. You will be taught how to make drape and flop moulds and sprig moulds. With drape and flop moulds the clay literally flops into or drapes over a shape, while smaller sprig moulds capture texture or an image that can then be pressed into the clay. You might like to make one for to use as your personal signature on your pieces. Moulds are used so you can replicate the same shape quickly. The mould you make in day one is then used to make multiples in day two. Sunday 14th June 10am - 4pm. Presentation followed by practical teaching of mould making. Saturday 20th June: 10am - 3pm. Hand building using the moulds from the first day. Utilising black clay and slip you will make your textured Dark Mofo ceramic ware. Tea, coffee, and biscuits and refreshments provided. BYO lunch. Bio Janine Brody's varied arts practice spans over 35 years and includes designing and producing a range of artworks, bespoke ceramic products and commissions for architecture, retail, restaurants and galleries whilst running a production studio. Janine was a partner in Cone 9, a business that focused for 10 years on making handmade tiles for tile retail outlets around Australia.
