Service Description
Cyanotype is simple photographic process that is developed in water and is distinguished by its beautiful Prussian Blue tones. In this workshop we will make ‘rayographs’ (also known as ‘photograms’), making prints by placing objects directly on treated paper as well as experimenting with hand-drawn negatives. Skill level: beginners onward Age group: 11 - 16 years Date/s: Sunday 5 January Time: 10am – 3pm with a lunch break: BYO lunch. (There is a fridge and microwave) Artist Bio: Dr. Sally Rees is an artist whose practice uses a diverse range of old and new media, high and low tech, with a particular interest in photomedia, animation and the moving image. Working largely from Lutruwita / Tasmania professionally since the 1990s, she often employs and combines a mix of found materials, images and concepts lifted from both popular culture, her autobiography and her direct environment, her work usually bears a distinctly surrealist heritage. Rees’s works are included in numerous collections, such as MONA, Clarence City Council, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, and the Devonport Regional Gallery. She is represented by Bett Gallery and lives and works on the unceded lands of the Leenowwenne people of the Big River Nation in Lutruwita.
Cancellation Policy
Please note if you cancel your booking with more than 72 hours notice, we will issue a full refund or a credit to use towards another session. If you cancel within 72 - 24 hours of the session, you will be issued a credit for another session. Any cancellations within 24 hours will be considered a "No Show". "No Shows" will be charged the full amount without refund. Please note a 7-day notice is required for group bookings of 8+ people. Note: We may cancel a session that does not have sufficient bookings. If we are to do so, we will notify you at least 24 hours prior to cancelling, so that you can make other arrangements.
