With our usual watercolour tutor, Jedda Robbard away on an artist's residency we are pleased to have artist Arjan Kok guide you to paint watercolour portraits. We’ll start from the basics of both watercolour technique and portraiture, put all the techniques we’ve learnt together to wind up with some gorgeous watercolour portraits. We’ll integrate the six colour wheel and how we can produce almost any colour with a simple principle. We’ll play with differently shaped brushes and the marks they can produce, and absorb the secrets of the sponge. We’ll study portrait drawing from every angle and with varied lighting. Suitable for beginners and those with more experience. A fresh approach aiming to produce work that is brimming with spontaneity. Arjan Kok is a Dutch/Tasmanian visual artist working in collage, oils and watercolour. His approach is instinctive, using figures from daily life to construct images of an imaginary world.
